SILVER 100 SAFETY FACTS
At the bottom of
this page is a link for viewing the Silver 100 Safety Report.
It contains details on safe levels of silver including details on the
government's guidelines for safe concentrations of silver in drinking
water and safe levels of total daily consumption of silver.
Silver 100
is entirely safe
As with anything,
extreme excess can be harmful. Short of that, silver is entirely safe,
and when using Silver 100 in accordance with the directions it's
as safe as eating and drinking food and water. Silver is well known
to be nontoxic to the body when extremes are avoided. In fact, that
Environmental Protection Agency allows responsible levels of silver
in our drinking water and considers those levels to be entirely safe.
The main concern
from excess silver consumption is a harmless but nonetheless undesirable
skin discoloration called argyria. This condition is essentially impossible
from using Silver 100 according to label directions. It would
take far, far more silver for argyria to be possible. The few cases
of argyria that exist are the result of very irresponsible practices.
The level of over-consumption that was necessary was so excessive that
comparable over-consumption of many commonly used products could have
had severe health consequencesnot just cosmetically unappealing
but seriously damaging to health. Out of perhaps millions of users of
silver for health purposes, there have been only a handful of reports
of argyria in modern times. In all cases, the quantities of silver consumed
had to be so extreme that responsible use of silver products couldn't
even equal a faction of those levels. Short of that, silver is entirely
safe, entirely natural, and entirely harmless to the body.
There has never
been a single report of argyria from using Silver 100! (This
is after six years of sales!)
Silver is a natural
mineral that's present in most of our food and even more so in our drinking
waterespecially in water (unless it's purified water from which
the minerals have been removed). The fact that the silver in Silver
100 is complexed with citrate has no bearing at all on whether
it can contribute towards argyria. "Silver is silver" in that
respectthe only issue that matters in avoiding argyria is staying
within safe limits of total silver intake. Indeed, the fact that Silver
100 consists of silver that is complexed with citrate means that
the greatly superior efficiency of the product allows you to use much
less while getting great results, consuming only the minimal amount
of silver necessary to obtain the maximum benefits.
The suggested usage
for Silver 100 is measured based on body weight. (This is done
in order to maximize both safety and economy.) Because of the efficiency
with which Silver 100 performs, in addition to the 100-ppm silver
concentration, only tiny amounts are required, as indicated on the label.
Silver 100 is entirely safe!
In observing what
we believe are very safe suggested usage limits, we have adopted what
we call the 25% rule, which says that if we keep the usage level
below 25% of the EPA's recommended daily limit of silver, that should
always be very safe.
Compares in safety
to about a liter of ordinary drinking water
The maximum
recommended regular daily amount of Silver 100 contains less
silver than may exist in a liter or two of ordinary drinking water!
This is based on the EPA's guidelines for safe levels of silver in
drinking water.
For a 120-pound
person, the maximum recommended regular daily amount of Silver 100
contains less silver than may exist in 0.6 of a liter of ordinary
drinking water.
For a 180-pound
person, the maximum recommended regular daily amount of Silver 100
contains less silver than may exist in 0.9 of a liter of ordinary
drinking water.
For a 240-pound
person, the maximum recommended regular daily amount of Silver 100
contains less silver than may exist in 1.2 liters of ordinary drinking
water.
(Note: A liter
is equal to about a quart, or 4.2 cups, or 33.8 ounces.)
You get the idea.
The amount of silver is comparable to what may exist in our daily intake
of drinking water, if that. The bottom line is that it's obviously not
even remotely enough to ever be concerned about. The difference, of
course, is that with Silver 100 the silver is complexed with citrate
in a way that is carefully designed to deliver the silver to the system
as ions.
Another way of looking
at the safety of Silver 100 is by observing that the maximum recommended
regular daily amount is always considerably less than 25% of the EPA's
recommended safe limit for daily consumption of silver.

Safety Report
Before clicking
on the link at the bottom of the page for viewing the Silver 100 Safety
Report, please consider the following comments.
The Silver 100
Safety Report represents what is undoubtedly the most extensive effort
that has ever been made to date in the
field of silver-containing dietary supplements to establish and demonstrate
absolute safety in using the product. It was originally prepared in
1999 by Invision International for in-house purposes only. Unlike some
companies that focus more on promotion than on quality, performance,
safety, and on presenting accurate, reliable information, we have always
focused on maintaining the highest degree of integrityand on knowing
the facts so we can do so. The Silver 100 Safety Report was prepared
as an in-house document in order to unequivocally demonstrate the safety
of Silver 100. Because questions regarding the safety of certain
silver products have been raised lately, we are making the Silver 100
Safety Report public. It was always available to anyone who asked for
safety details but we never felt the need to disseminate it widely until
recently. Our integrity has never been in question, and neither has
the safety of Silver 100. However, the average layperson can easily
be confused when irresponsible assertions are made by others without
citing any facts or figures. The Silver 100 Safety Report clears
up any possible questions regarding the safety of Silver 100.
It also illustrates the extent to which Invision International has always
gone in order to ensure absolute, unequivocal customer safety as our
top priority.
Pertinent statistics
We'd like to point
out that while the EPA assumes that the average person will consume
about a liter of drinking water per 77 pounds of body weight per day
and establishes safety guidelines for silver concentration in water
based on that assumption, many people obviously drink much more water
than that per day. Since you don't see people regularly developing argyria,
it may be reasonable to conclude that the EPA's safety guidelines for
silver content in drinking water and for total silver consumption as
indicated by the RfD represent extremely conservative levels of daily
silver intake. However, most drinking water contains less silver than
the EPA's recommended limit for silver concentration. This can be viewed
to mean that there is even more room for silver from other sources such
as Silver 100 than indicated in the Silver 100 Safety Report.
How much silver can be safely obtained from other sources besides food
and water while still staying below safe intake levels depends on how
much silver is in the food intake and, moreover, how much silver is
in the water intakethe latter being a function of the silver concentration
in the water and the total quantity of water consumed.
Because plenty of
people drink far more drinking water than one liter per 77 pounds of
body weight per day, it is not valid to assume that using Silver 100
will always keep someone below the EPA's recommended daily limit of
silver intake, yet it IS valid to acknowledge that the maximum recommended
regular daily amount of Silver 100 will always contain less silver
than a liter or two of plain drinking water may contain according
to EPA guidelines.
Please note that
after the Silver 100 Safety Report was produced, the government
has done some shuffling of its entities. Therefore, some government
department names and the titles of some government regulations and reports
have changed. However, none of the key figures regarding safety regulations
and guidelines have changed to our knowledge, just titles.
